In the world of manufacturing, few companies embody the blend of tradition, innovation, and sustainability quite like Peruzzo. Based in northern Italy, Peruzzo has been designing and producing high-quality cycling accessories for more than fifty years. From its early beginnings crafting chain covers for original equipment manufacturers, the company has evolved into an international brand, producing over 190,000 bike carriers each year and exporting to 48 countries.

Their products spanning tow ball, roof, and rear mounted bike carriers are renowned for their Italian-made quality, functionality, and style. Yet behind the precision engineering and global success is a deeply human story: one of family values, customer trust, and a continuous drive for improvement.

Recently, that drive led Peruzzo to adopt Cadasio, an online platform for creating interactive 3D assembly and instruction content directly from CAD data. The result has been a remarkable transformation in how Peruzzo designs, communicates, and supports its products.

A Family Business with Global Reach

Founded in 1972 by Angelo Peruzzo, the company began as a small workshop producing chain covers for the cycling industry. As demand shifted in the late 1980s, Peruzzo pivoted, embracing a new market for cycle accessories particularly car-mounted bike carriers.

Today, under the second generation of leadership, Peruzzo stands as a proudly 100% Made in Italy manufacturer with a strong global presence. With a distribution network spanning Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America, the company continues to grow while staying true to its roots.

Its headquarters in Veneto, a region known for industrial innovation, reflects its strong connection to local craftsmanship and sustainable production. Most of Peruzzo’s suppliers are located within just 10 kilometres of its factory, ensuring a short supply chain and minimal environmental impact.

This dedication to ethical and responsible business practices is deeply ingrained in Peruzzo’s culture. The company has made sustainability a pillar of its operations through initiatives such as solar energy, waste reduction, and digital transformation one of which involves its adoption of Cadasio.

The Challenge: Complex, Time-Consuming Technical Communication

Peruzzo’s technical team uses Autodesk Fusion 360 for design and R&D, the same technicians who develop products are also responsible for producing assembly and user instructions.

Before using Cadasio, the team relied on Siemens’ Technical Publications software, a tool that proved cumbersome, buggy, and inflexible. According to Yahia Selouti, Mechanical Designer and creator of Peruzzo’s technical instructions, the old process was not only slow but also produced unclear visuals and made updates nearly impossible. “It was challenging to use, overly complex, full of bugs, and the results were unclear,” Yahia explains. “The images were low quality, and updating existing instructions was nearly impossible.”

For a company producing multiple product lines and custom variants, the ability to keep documentation up to date was critical but their previous system made this an uphill battle.

The Solution: Cadasio’s Flexible and Interactive Platform

While researching better options, Peruzzo discovered Cadasio through an online search. Among the available solutions, Cadasio stood out immediately for two reasons: ease of use and affordability.

Unlike traditional technical illustration software, Cadasio is built around simplicity and flexibility. It allows users to transform CAD data into interactive 3D instructions that can be shared online or used to generate high-quality images for print.

“Cadasio was the most affordable and easiest to implement in our workflow,” Yahia notes. “It was very easy to learn after a few tutorials, I realised there’s almost no limit to what you can do.”

For Peruzzo, one of the standout benefits has been Cadasio’s update-friendly project structure. Once an instruction set is created, updates to the CAD model can be carry through to the online presentation without breaking links or disrupting the workflow. This means faster turnaround times, fewer errors, and a smoother connection between design and documentation.

Streamlining Operations and Improving Product Clarity

Since adopting Cadasio, Peruzzo’s technical documentation process has become significantly more efficient. The company can now generate clear, modern, and interactive assembly instructions directly from the CAD model, eliminating repetitive work and manual reformatting.

“The update process has become much smoother” Yahia explains.

“It saves time, reduces errors, and allows us to create instructions directly from the CAD model.”

One particularly successful implementation was for Peruzzo’s GP Saturn modular base system, a flexible platform that allows customers to attach different accessories. Cadasio enabled the team to create interactive, modular instructions that help customers understand assembly steps, explore available add-ons, and even link directly to the company’s website to learn more.

This innovative approach not only improves the user experience but also serves as a subtle sales tool, showcasing complementary products and encouraging add-on purchases.

“At the end of the base assembly, customers can immediately view available accessories, choose which one to install, and access direct links to our website” says Yahia. “It improves usability and promotes awareness of additional products.”

Better Experiences for Customers and Distributors

Cadasio’s impact extends beyond Peruzzo’s internal team. Distributors and end-users alike have noticed the difference. The clarity, interactivity, and visual quality of the new instructions have led to fewer support requests and a stronger brand impression.

“Customers have reported a better understanding of how to use our products” Yahia says. “External stakeholders appreciate how intuitive and modern the interactive instructions are, which enhances the perception of our brand and products.”

The positive feedback from distributors has even sparked new opportunities, as many now request customised instruction versions tailored to specific configurations or regional markets.

Supporting Sustainability Through Digital Transformation

For Peruzzo, adopting Cadasio wasn’t just about efficiency it was also a natural extension of their commitment to sustainability.

By moving away from printed manuals and towards digital, interactive instructions, the company has drastically reduced paper consumption, aligning with their long-term environmental goals and ESG initiatives.

“Cadasio helps us reduce paper usage by limiting printed manuals” Yahia explains. “It perfectly aligns with our eco-friendly values.”

This initiative complements Peruzzo’s broader sustainability programme, which includes solar power generation, the use of local suppliers, and environmentally responsible materials such as bamboo and recycled plastics in their product lines.

Looking Ahead: Expanding the Use of Cadasio

Peruzzo’s positive experience has inspired plans to expand Cadasio’s use across the business. Yahia envisions the software being used not just for customer-facing instructions but also for internal training, particularly for seasonal assembly line staff.

“Since our work is seasonal and part of our team changes every year, I believe Cadasio would be a great tool for quickly and effectively training new employees.” he says.

A Partnership Built on Innovation and Shared Values

Cadasio’s mission is to help companies like Peruzzo bring their models to life bridging the gap between CAD design and user communication. In Peruzzo, that mission has found a perfect match: a forward-thinking manufacturer that values innovation, clarity, and sustainability in equal measure.

“Cadasio is a brilliant, simple, and effective tool that lets you transform your CAD work into fully interactive and engaging content” Yahia concludes.

Through this partnership, Peruzzo continues to set the standard not only for high-quality Italian manufacturing but also for how modern companies communicate their products to the world clearly, interactively, and responsibly.
